Our story
Phoenix — the 3CK blue-winged kookaburra mascot

We’re 3CK — short for Third Culture Kid.

It’s the name for people who grow up between worlds and build a new one of their own.

Meet Phoenix, our mascot: a blue-winged kookaburra with a Vietnamese name. Phượng means “phoenix” — after our cofounder Phuong. An unmistakably Australian bird carrying a story from somewhere else. Like us, he doesn’t fit neatly in one box. That’s the point.

We’re two Australians who live between two worlds too. Matthew brings the rigour of business and legal compliance — Economics at UNSW, Law at the University of Sydney, and a Master of Laws from UCL. Phuong anchors our work in the heart of the not-for-profit sector, with a degree in Social Work from UNSW and a lifelong commitment to inclusive, ethical design.

As a 100% Australian-owned business, we bring those worlds together: smart websites — and the Donation Engine behind them — legally robust, deeply accessible, and built to help Australian charities rise, grow, and do more of what matters.
