Shout for Good closes Tuesday 4 August 2026
The done-for-you Shout for Good alternative for Australian charities
When Shout for Good shuts down, donate buttons stop working — and recurring donors are cancelled. We migrate your charity to its own branded donation page, on your own Stripe, for 2.5% of donations with no pre-selected tips for your donors, live before the deadline. Done for you.
Helping Australian charities raise more online since 2011 — including Guide Dogs NSW/ACT and the Sydney Eye Hospital Foundation.
What happens on 4 August
ANZ has announced it is winding down Shout for Good, with no in-house replacement. Every affected charity has to migrate to another provider itself. Hundreds of Australian charities — and tens of thousands of recurring donors — are caught in this.
Most charities focus on the "Donate" button going dead. That matters: click it after the 4th and you hit a broken page, and those one-off gifts are lost. But it is not the real damage.
The real risk: your recurring donors
When Shout for Good closes, your recurring direct-debit donations are cancelled. Your regular monthly givers — dollar for dollar your most valuable and hardest-to-replace supporters — simply stop. No email asking them to re-subscribe. The money quietly stops arriving, and most charities do not notice until the next reconciliation shows a hole.
Winning back a lapsed regular donor is far harder than keeping one. So the most urgent job is not "replace the button" — it is move your recurring donors before the 4th.
Your before-4-August checklist
Whether you switch with us, another provider, or in-house — work through these:
- 1
Export everything now
Download your full donor and transaction history and your recurring-donor list. Once the platform is switched off, that data is gone. (Shout has asked charities to do this and to contact info@shoutforgood.com before the cutoff.)
- 2
Decide: online, in-person, or both?
If you used Shout mainly for a donate button and online campaigns, you need a web donation page. If you relied on its tap-to-give hardware (Shout Blade terminals, tap displays, event QR codes), a website will not solve that — it is a hardware problem needing a different kind of provider. Many charities are both.
- 3
Choose a replacement — and know what to look for
For the online side: your own Stripe account with you as merchant of record, a fee that is not quietly funded by a pre-selected donor tip, a provider that handles recurring-donor migration for you, and proper WCAG/DDA accessibility and compliant receipting.
- 4
Migrate your recurring donors deliberately
This usually is not a silent switch — depending on how gifts were set up, donors may need to re-confirm. Plan a warm, simple message: "your monthly gift is moving, here is the one thing we need from you." That beats a dead debit every time.
- 5
Update every "Donate" link
Website, email footers, social bios, QR codes — anything pointing at Shout needs to point at the new page before the deadline.
- 6
Test it end-to-end
Make a real donation to the new page. Confirm the receipt arrives and looks right. Confirm a monthly gift can be set up.
Choosing a Shout for Good replacement — what to look for
Not all options are equal. For the online side, we would hold any provider to these four:
Your own Stripe account
Donations land with you directly and you own the donor relationship and data — no platform sitting in the middle of your money.
No pre-selected tips for your donors
You are about to start paying fees you never paid on Shout. A fixed service fee versus a percentage of every gift makes a big difference as you grow — understand exactly what each option costs.
Recurring-donor migration handled
Ask specifically how a provider moves your existing monthly donors across. This is the whole ballgame, and it is the job most likely to be fumbled under deadline.
Accessible and compliant
WCAG 2.2 / DDA accessibility, compliant tax-deductible receipting for DGR-endorsed charities, and donor data hosted in Australia are not optional for a charity.
A note on donor "tips" — and where the law is heading
Be thoughtful about platforms funded by a pre-ticked "optional" donor tip. Beyond the cost, Australian consumer law is moving firmly against "dark patterns" — designs that nudge people into choices they did not actively make. The new Unfair Trading Practices law, passed by Parliament in 2026 and commencing July 2027, targets exactly this, and its explanatory materials specifically name pre-selected checkboxes as an example. The ACCC is already penalising businesses in other sectors for pre-ticked optional fees.
We will not tell you any particular platform is breaking the law — that is untested for charity donations. But the direction of travel is clear. Choose a donation experience where any optional fee or tip is opt-in — unticked by default, the donor's active choice. It is more respectful of your donors, and it is on the right side of where the rules are heading. That is how our own Donation Engine is built.
How 3CK migrates you — done for you, before the deadline
The clock is short and most fundraising teams are already stretched. At 3CK we handle the whole migration as a done-for-you service: we move your recurring donors, build your branded donation page on your own Stripe, wire up compliant receipting, and get you live before 4 August — so your team does not have to become payments experts under a deadline.
We have been building digital fundraising for Australian charities since 2011, including Guide Dogs NSW/ACT and the Sydney Eye Hospital Foundation. Your gift (minus only the standard card-processing fee and our 2.5%) goes straight to your cause, you own your donor data, and we never ask your donors to cover our fee.

Shout for Good closure — frequently asked questions
When does Shout for Good close?
Shout for Good closes at 5:00pm AEST on Tuesday 4 August 2026. After that, donate buttons pointing to it stop working and recurring direct-debit donations set up through it are cancelled.
What happens to my recurring donors when Shout for Good closes?
Your recurring direct-debit donations are cancelled on the closure date. Your regular monthly givers simply stop — they are not automatically moved to another provider. Migrating them before 4 August 2026 is the single most important task.
What is the best Shout for Good alternative for an Australian charity?
For online giving, look for a done-for-you donation page on your own Stripe account with you as merchant of record, a provider whose fee is not quietly funded by a pre-selected donor tip, recurring-donor migration handled for you, and WCAG/DDA accessibility plus compliant receipting. 3CK provides exactly this as a managed service, for 2.5% of donations, and can have you live before the deadline.
Will I lose my donor data?
Only if you do not export it first. Download your full donor and transaction history from Shout before the closure date. If you migrate with 3CK, we help move your donors and recurring gifts across to your own Stripe account.
Do I need to replace tap-to-donate hardware?
A donation website does not replace Shout’s in-person hardware (the Shout Blade terminals, fixed tap-to-donate displays, or event QR devices). If you relied on those, you need a tap-to-give hardware provider, not a web page. Many charities need both, and we will tell you honestly which you are.
Shout for Good was free — will a replacement cost money?
Shout was unusual: charities paid nothing because ANZ absorbed the processing costs. Every replacement will cost something — the question worth asking is who pays it. Many platforms look cheap because a pre-selected donor "tip" quietly funds them. 3CK charges you 2.5% of donations, on your own Stripe account, and pre-selects no tips at checkout — a donor who does nothing pays nothing extra.
Can you migrate us before 4 August?
Yes. 3CK builds your branded donation page on your own Stripe, migrates your recurring donors, and gets you live before the deadline as a done-for-you service, so your team does not have to become payments experts under time pressure.
